"Recommended. A carefully planned disc. Fascinating, diverse repertoire in intelligent, ever-musical interpretations from two masters of their instruments. Clayton and Shade are perfect partners, simply superb in their belief in this music, shining through every phrase.. Dorff's music, based on a 1730 Parisian love song, can be light or tender...Dorff is clearly a man of much imagination.. Bax's music is enchanting and includes Irish tunes.. The short works by the Icelandic composers are a ravishing way to spend couple of moments.. Hindemith's student Harald Genzmer's Sonata was written in1990. The first movment is freewheling and kaleidoscopic.. The secomd movement pinpoints Genzmer's appealing mix of tonality and post-tonality..In the finale lyricism strives within a mobile dynamic.. Jean-Michel Damase's second sonata for flute and harp was published in 1998, [and has] a real ease of writing, superbly presented here by Clayton and Shade." Fanfare (Colin Clarke, March/April 2026)
