Armando Ghitalla is one of the most respected trumpet players and teachers of this century. Born June 1, 1925, he graduated from the Juilliard School of Music in 1950, joining the Boston Symphony in 1951, taught at the University of Michigan in 1979 and, in 1994, became Professor of Trumpet at the Shepherd School (Rice University). Also that year he was awarded an honorary doctorate from Illinois Wesleyan University.
"All are splendid performances. What makes them so outstanding is Ghitalla’s sense of elegant style. This is a collection of worthy repertory, played as if by the Archangel Gabriel himself. Highly recommended." InTune Magazine
