Froydis Ree Wekre, born in Oslo, began her music studies at age four: first on piano, then on violin, not turning to horn until she was seventeen. Only two years later she was offered a position in the Norwegian Opera Orchestra and, at age twenty, joined the Oslo Philharmonic with which she played co-principal horn from 1965 to 1990. Zita Carno, a native of New York City and receiving her BM and MM degrees from the Manhattan School of Music, assists Ms. Wekre on piano.
Emmanuel Chabrier: Larghetto; Luigi Cherubini: Sonata No. 2; Robert Schumann: Adagio and Allegro; Henri Tomasi: Chant Corse and Danse Profane; Camille Saint-Saens: Morceau de Concert; Leone Sinigaglia: Lied and Humoreske; Cesar Cui: Perpetual Motion. With Zita Carno, piano.
