Susan Nigro has played numerous solo recitals, made solo appearances with many Chicago-area orchestras and bands, premiered over a dozen new works and has been listed on the Artists Rosters in many states. She founded the Chicago Bassoon Quartet and has written books including "Laffs from the Bottom of the Pit." She is also listed in several editions of International Who's Who in Music and holds memberships in Intertel and Mensa.
Burl Lane, until recently contrabassoonist with the Chicago Symphony Orchestra, received his BME degree from the University of Tulsa. During that time he studied with Dwight Dailey and was contrabassoonist with the Tulsa Philharmonic. He then attended the Juilliard School of Music, earning a master of Science degree and a Professional Diploma in Bassoon. While at Juilliard, he studied bassoon with Harold Goltzer, contrabassoon with Bert Bial and saxophone with Joseph Allard. He next attended Columbia University and was awarded a music Education Diploma.
Lane was a member of the Chicago Symphony Orchestra since 1965.
