Louise DiTullio can be heard on the albums of recording stars Barbara Streisland, Frank Sinatra, Tony Bennett, Kenny G, and Michael Jackson, among others.
DiTullio was principal flutist with the Columbia Symphony, performing many works of Igor Stravinsky with Stravinsky conducting. She was a long-time member of the Los Angeles Philharmonic.

Composer John Williams, probably the most honored film composer in history, refers to her as being "in the very front rank among the world's great flutists".

Legendary flutist Louise DiTullio is one of the most widely heard flutists of our time having recorded over 1200 film scores as well as hundreds of television scores. She began her career as Flutist and solo piccolo in the Los Angeles Philharmonic when she was 19 years old. After six years, she turned to the recording studio while also performing as first flutist in the Columbia Symphony. She can be heard on the historic recordings of Igor Stravinsky’s works with Stravinsky conducting.
This recording begins with Jacques Ibert’s Concerto for Flute and Orchestra. The work, in three movements, is dedicated to French flutist Maurcel Moyse. In recent times this concerto has become one of the top favorite concertos along with those by Mozart, Borne, and Nielsen. DiTullio’s playing is inspiring especially her use of colors in the second movement.
Next is a lesser-known concerto by Pierre-Max Dubois. This is a tour de-force work…full of jazzy rhythms contrasted by a lovely Pavane-Lento. To round out DiTullio’s collaboration with the English Chamber Orchestra is the haunting Frank Martin Ballade.
DiTullio is joined by her sister, Pianist Virginia DiTullio (1934-2017), to whom this album is dedicated, in the Prokofiev Sonata for Flute and Piano, Op. 94 and the Pierre Sancan Sonatine.

The performances of these works are first rate. DiTullio continues to sparkle with a beautiful sound and top-notch phrasing. this recording is an inspiration for any flutist.
Instrumentalist, Oct/Nov 2022, Patricia George

The American flutist Louise DiTullio is known for playing on many soundtracks, like Little House on the Prairie, Dalles, Dances with wolves and Warhorse. On this cd you’ll find some recordings from 1975 an d 1976. She is playing the Flute concertos of Ibert and Dubois and the Ballade of Frank Martin with The English Chamber Orchestra. As a tribute to her sister Virginia DiTullio, who died in 2017, you ‘ll also hear the Sonata of Prokofiev and the Sonatine of Sancan.

You can hear the age of this recording only at the sound of the orchestra, it has the warm LP-sound. The flute playing is timeless. The Andante of Ibert has beautiful colours and the challenging Sonata of Prokofiev sounds very fluent and easy. It is nice to hear this flutist in classical flute repertoire. Daphne Dijkmans Feb, 2023 Fluit ( Netherlands)
