“Ingolf Dahl’s Music for Brass Instruments…is higher in quality than almost anything else in the (then) quintet repertory. Hearing this high-level group play the piece is very satisfying. The recording includes three other works of high quality. Superb players.”AmericanRecord Guide, (Kilpatrick)
Hearing this high-level group (Fine Arts Brass Quintet) play the piece (Ingolf Dahl’s ‘Music for Brass Instruments') is very satisfying…like perfect unisons, a trumpet player’s long and quiet high tone. undistorted tone qualities at pianissimo and fortissimo…are impressive. The recording includes three other works of high quality. Anthony Plog’s colorful little set of "Four Sierra Scenes” Robert Linn’s “Brass Quintet", and Donal Michalski’s "Two Fantasias".
superb players.
