The Los Angeles Brass Society, founded in 1960 by Dr. Remsen, was a symphonic brass choir organized for the purpose of presenting the finest in chamber music for brass instruments. The Los Angeles Philharmonic Brass Ensemble was made up of members of the Los Angeles Philharmonic and also premiered many works for brass.
Lester Remsen, conductor, received the B. Mus. at the Eastman Schoolf of Music and the M. Mus. and Doctorate of Musical Arts at the University of Southern California. He was a pioneer in the world of brass chamber music and his influence is widely felt.
